Born in Dublin with an Irish mother and Polish father, Sonja Krzyzanowski grew up in a musical family. “There was always music at home, and lots of lovely harmony singing”.
Sonja began playing the whistle and singing in sessions in the early 1990’s in Howth in County Dublin, a small fishing village with a strong and distinctive tradition in tunes and songs, especially songs about the sea. A regular at sessions throughout Dublin over the years, Sonja is known for her harmony singing across a wide variety of genres, including traditional Irish, folk, bluegrass, blues and rock. She is currently teaching music by day and playing guitar and singing with rock band The Revival by night.
