Claire Keville comes from Claran in County Galway. Her family’s interest in music was very strong on both sides –her maternal grandfather played the whistle and melodeon and her paternal grandmother played the melodeon. She has always been drawn to the music and repertoire of East Galway. In addition to hosting a traditional music program (Music in the Glen) on Ireland’s Clare-FM, Claire works as a teacher and gives workshops in Irish traditional music.
