
Eileen Hassett is from Quin in Co. Clare and grew up playing music under the tutelage of Deidre O'Brien-Vaughan. In 1990 she won Senior Flute title in the County and Munster Fleadhs. She has performed and taught internationally, including hosting weekly Irish music sessions in pubs in Ennis, Dublin and NewYork. She currently shares her time between Dublin where she hosts a weekly session at McNeill's Pub on Capel Street and her home townland of Ballyhannon, near Quin. She features on the album Wooden Flute Obsession Vol3. She programmed and presented the 2011 Steeple Sessions series of traditional music concerts at the Unitarian Church, Dublin. Eileen also plays low whistle.
